To be honest, I think Arshavin’s first (true) goal for us against Blackburn was better than his 2nd against Liverpool.

You also missed Diaby’s goal against Aston Villa, RVP’s against Liverpool and Vela’s against Sheff utd and Wigan.

For the record, I didn’t miss any of those goals, I just didn’t think they were top quality. I mean, they are nice and all, but can’t hold a candle to the ones here.

The van Persie goal against Liverpool, for example, isn’t any better than 3 or 4 others he scored so if I include that then I have to include others. And the Diaby goal is nice because we got to see him actually running for once but it’s a pretty routine goal. As for the Arshavin goal, I heard a lot about that Arshavin first goal against Blackburn but in my opinion that was poor goalkeeping, while his second against Liverpool was pure skill. Only a handful of people on this earth could hit that Liverpool goal, whereas everyone I know could shoot a ball straight at the keeper and have him fall to the ground. Come on! It almost looks like Robinson dives to let the goal in!

Cool, it’s a matter of opinion. But I would obviously disagree although the choices you picked are very good. Arshavin’s goal v Blackburn was not really bad goalkeeping; yes every keeper should have their near post covered but blasting it into the top corner? He wouldn’t have guessed that.

Quick counter attack for Diaby’s, they’ll be waxing lyrical if United done the same. And RVP’s; I haven’t seen a similar goal all season in the Prem. But good choices anyway.

Arshavin wins the header, plays it forward, then nips in to steal the ball off Arbeloa and merely hits a 35 yard cut shot through two defenders, into the side netting where no goalkeeper would ever save the ball.

    It’s a magical goal, really.

If the article is true, RVP is having his teeth pulled….. because they make his muscles hurt?

I think at least 3 of Arshavin’s goals against Liverpool should get nominated. Was it the last one where he picks the near post top corner with the left foot, on the run?

They were all beautiful goals. Song’s goal was pretty much beating down an already beaten team but the others were priceless. Dudu wins my vote only because it was thrilling to see him so composed. I worried he wouldn’t play again and I can’t think of a better comeback than that goal.

RvP to lose wisdom teeth to improve fitness. I shall have my haircut next week, that should cure my athletes foot!

Seriously, they are all great goals, made with style and flair, but which are the most important goals? Ades against Villareal maybe, Samirs against Mancs?

Has anyone seen the names coming out of the woodwork as possible signings? Every team in the world has a possible Arsenal target. (There’s guy I’ve seen playing on one of the South Sea Islands, we could get for a handfull of shells ……….)

Never mind Messi, Iniesta and co, still say how much for Puyol?

    Viva!

Hey Dont Forget EDUARDO goal against burnley…it was a classic brazilian(he may be a croatian citizen & international) goal..and look how much quality he has in his arsenal…God gave Arsenal the true Footballer but he was injured in a bad manner..what difference he would have made had he been out there….

i mean, some how songs goal was better than arshavins first? do u even watch soccer?

  12. May 31, 2009 at 3:04 pm

    No, I watch football.

The Song goal is included as an inside joke. It’s nowhere near the same quality as the others, hell, Denilson had better goals than that.

But you know, feel free to come in to a blog you know fuck all about and call the author a joke, cocksandwhich.

Hey joe – if you disagree, then how about you do a blog post with YOUR top/best/favourite five goals from this last season? I’m sure we’d all be happy to come and comment on it.

    *waits*

    No?

Anyway, Tim – didn’t Goal Machine Eboué grab a few this season? Come onnnnnnnnnn, man!

    :)
